Tim Cunningham is a nurse, actor and teacher. He treated Ebola patients in Sierra Leone as a volunteer nurse with the organization Partners in Health. Since 2003 he has worked with the non-profit organization Clowns Without Borders-USA as a performing artist, board member and executive director. He has performed for children across 20 countries in zones of conflict, natural disaster and extreme poverty (including the USA). His work with the Big Apple Circus Clown Care and Clowns Without Borders inspired him to become an emergency pediatric nurse. He is an advocate for laughter and developing better understandings of resilience in the face of suffering.
Desmond, to whom this book is dedicated, is one of the first children with Ebola that Tim treated.
